Peace is the missing piece in today's Middle East peace process. When was the last time Palestinians and Israelis sat down to talk peace? And yet the U.S. busily promotes what President Donald Trump calls the “Deal of the Century.” But if it is the real deal, when do the parties—Palestinians and Israelis—talk to each other? If former Palestinian President Yassir Arafat and former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin found ways to negotiate peace, can the current leadership in the Arab World, Israel, and the U.S. do the same? If so, how? And if not, why not?

Dr. Salhi is a tenured full professor faculty with the Political Science Department. Currently, he is the Interim Dean of Undergraduate Studies. He served as Associate Dean of the College of Natural and Behavioral Science for four years.
